Our Origin Story
Brooks Avenue is a print-driven women’s contemporary clothing brand celebrating color, craftsmanship, and self-expression. Founded by Lawson Park in 2023, just before earning her MFA in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, the brand began as an exploration of translating her mother’s original artwork into clothing. What started as an artistic experiment evolved into a distinct design perspective shaped by Lawson’s Southern heritage, travels, and appreciation for global craft traditions.
Southern Roots
Born and raised in an artistic home in the American South, Lawson developed an early appreciation for color, pattern, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design. While refining her voice as a designer at FIT, she began to view fashion as a form of storytelling, one that communicates through print, texture, silhouette, and detail. Designed in New York with a Southern state of mind, Brooks Avenue sits at the intersection of tradition and contemporary dressing, blending vibrant color, artisanal craftsmanship, and a spirit of curiosity.
Our Inspiration
Inspired by interiors, travel, and the beauty of handmade objects, Lawson create pieces rich in character and thoughtful details. From custom prints and embroidery to quilting, appliqué, and embellishment, each design is created with intention and meant to feel collected rather than mass-produced, special rather than fleeting.
